Halfway through reading ALEXANDER and the WIND UP MOUSE by Leo Lionni to my son on his 3rd birthday, I realized that I had to write and illustrate children’s books as well. I have written and illustrated eighteen published books. My 1st two were illustrated in pen and ink, the last sixteen in cut-paper collage. I have recently been rounding up as many of the preliminary drawings (hundreds for every book) and the manuscripts with many drafts, and many trial cut-outs including eyes, ears, hands, feet and tails, in order to send them, along with finished art, to libraries where original art and stories are studied.
