Newbery Honor Award winner Lesa Cline-Ransome is the author of numerous non-fiction and historical fiction titles for picture book, chapter book, middle grade and young adult readers including Before She Was Harriet, Jane Addams Winner They Call Me Teach: Lessons in Freedom, and the award-winning Finding Langton series.

Her MG novel-in-verse, One Big Open Sky, was the recipient of the Newbery Honor medal and Coretta Scott King Award Author Honor and named a Boston Globe and the New York Times Best Book.

Lesa frequently collaborates with her illustrator husband, James Ransome and lives in New York’s Hudson Valley.
