New York Times best selling author Nikki Grimes, a Black Authors Hall of Fame Inductee, has received the ALAN Award for teen literature, Children's Literature Legacy Medal, NCTE Award for excellence in Poetry for Children, and the Coretta Scott King Author Award for Bronx Masquerade. Her memoir, Ordinary Hazards, won the Printz Honor and Sibert Honor. Her acclaimed poetry collections include One Last Word, and Legacy: Women Poets of the Harlem Renaissance, a Kirkus Prize Finalist. Her most recent picture books are Lullaby for the King, A Cup of Quiet, and Stronger Than. Ms. Grimes lives in Corona, California.
