Sandi Van is a writer, academic advisor, and breast cancer survivor from Buffalo, New York. Her young adult verse novels are part of an educational imprint aimed at reluctant readers, and four of her six books have earned the Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Award. Her debut novel, SECOND IN COMMAND, was nominated for the 2019 Children’s and Young Adult Bloggers’ Literary Award in YA Poetry and the 2021 New York State Reading Association’s Charlotte Award.
